Hmm, good question? Well, i think it all depends what u are after. I know that in early and mid April, the nearshore reefs such as turtle reef, locust point reef, and toussaint reef are good bets and be sure not to overlook my personal favorite, cone reef. Also, u should know that u don't have to be on a reef to catch lots of fish. If u are launching out of the wild wings area or fenwick area, fish about 1/2 out the mouth of the river in about 10 fow. I think if ur looking for a trophy, try fishing the ledges to the north and east sides of niagra, little pickerel, and flat rock reef. But, ive fished lake erie a long time and know that every year certain reefs are better than others and u never know where u might latch on to a monster. if fishing from port clinton area, i found round reef to be excellent last year. it about 2 miles out in front of davis bessi.
