Default Drifting too fast for jigging

Last Sunday I couldn't get the boat to drift slow enough with the one bag I had. I couldn't get the 1 oz jig on the bottom without letting way too much line out. Is a heavy bottom bouncer the next best option?
If so what do you tie to it?
    Leader and a jig?
    Lindy rig with a minnow?
Lindy rig with a floating jig and minnow?
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Wednesday evening was extremely fast as well. We didnt get out until 7pm. 1 bag was the same as having no bags. But had 3 eyes in the cooler by 715. 6 in the cooler by 8pm and i lost no less than 10 at the boat trying to lift them in rather than safely netting them. We couldn't get a vertical jig to save us so we casted out 50 ft and jigged it back to the boat. Hammer time. Non stop action.

Some times you need more than 1 Oz jigs. Might have to put another bag out. The casting jig also work well, even when you can slow down.
