Quick report from a newbie

Fought the waves this morning and fished all day... one fish. Trolling a HJ firetiger in about 18' of water. Really tried. Did mostly trolling, little jigging. My expectations of catching a bunch of fish on this trip are slowly being crushed. That said, the one I got today was a 28" pig. Two more days left. Not sure what the East winds will do ... planning on fishing hard all day as long as it is safe. This morning was a little rough in the 17' boa on my own.

Any advice... I'll take it. Plan on heading out early, Fenwicks or wild Wings... then out further if it feel safe. Out to the can b-c area. Still thinking about the west side of Kellys one day, just for something different, and to see the area.

Good luck. East winds seems tough sometimes to get the fish going. If the water is still muddy makes jigging tough, but we always seem to have our best luck jigging very early in the day. Starting before day light through that first hr. Fish seem closer normally. But I would guess the jig bite should be able to light up. It's been a few weeks since I've been out and alot has happened weather wise.

Might want to think about Catawba and hit d, e, f, can area for trolling.
