Re: Advice for Casters/Drifters
Wow, 6 adults and 2 kids in one boat casting...sounds like a perfect recipe for a trip to the emergency room to get hooks removed from someone's head. It's impressive that you were able to catch...

Wow, you really covered the spectrum with baits. Nice report. Did you run various stuff at different times, or were you running all of that at the same time? The reason that I ask is that...

Re: Advice for Casters/Drifters
That is very sound information. One additional point. Different baits, weights and lines will allow the bait to sink at different rates. Therefore, on your first cast, start counting when it...

Re: Inline trolling boards
I use the black pinch clips on the front of mine and then the red ones in the back. When we get a fish, we pop the front release off, so the board falls back to the center, but the board does not...

Re: Fishing Day 2 with Jim and Gary 5/18/2022
We've all had those moments at the ramp, or with boats in general. Last summer I was in a hurry to launch, as I knew I only had about 2 hours before a storm was coming. Launched the boat into...

Awesome, thanks! Gotta love “Big Bad Bill”. Shout out to Kevin Collins who was my co-designer on that one, and his late father, the original “Big Bad Bill” who inspired the bait in the first...

Re: Fishing with Mark and Jim 5/12/2022
The easiest solution would be to get two trolling bags (ie drift-socks) to slow down your boat. However, I would never venture onto the Great Lakes w/o a kicker. For safety reasons, if nothing...

Awesome trolling bite near the D-River in Erie
Made it out again near the D-River earlier this week on my buddy Jim's boat. We started out in some greenish stained water that looked perfect for trolling cranks, but after 10-12 white bass, we...

Thanks again for your "shout-out" about "Fermi-Nuff". After your last post, I sold out of them very quickly. I made 20 more of them and half of those are already gone. I can't make them fast...

Re: Rigging big board tow planer boards
Like the previous poster said, it really depends on the type of boat you are running, your budget and other variables. I have a set of big boards with a mast, and in-line planers. I I have a...

Re: Day 4 Fishing with "Doc", Tom, and Heath 4/5/2022
We only ran 4 boards per side, because my guys are from MN/SD and can't run more than one and two lines, respectively, so we kept it simple.
Nice job Captain! I saw that line in your post and... -

Jigging sucked, but the trolling bite was on!
We started out jigging in the lower D-River, but after 90 mins of nothing, we put the jigging rods away and went to the lake. We found some dirty water in shallow that was 40 degrees (vs 37 in...
