I always leaving my motor running when I first anchor until the bite starts. If the bite slows or stops I will start it again. Sometimes the bite restarts immediately.

Super job great white. There are a few good honest folks left. I left mine at the local city reservoir a few years ago. Went back within a half hour and it was gone and the shady character at the...

    Re: Casters

First day up in 3 weeks. Caught 16 nice keepers from 6-10:30 today maybe a half mile SW of Green I. Continued fishing until 2 but only caught 1 more keeper. The ever elusive "last one" never showed...

    Re: Canadian fishing

As much as I enjoy my time and quality fishing on Erie, fishing on a good catch n release lake or river in northern Ontario is different level of fishing. 2 years ago I did a fly in with just my dog...

I agree with the Ugly Sticks. Been using AND abusing them for 40 years. As for the reels I use a fairly cheap Shimono Syncopate mainly because I love the finger trigger. Most manufacturers quit...

I know it's been a long 2 years since we have been allowed to cross borders but does anyone feel like striking up conversations on past north of the border experiences. I just moved my trip back to...

You casters have been pretty tight lipped again. Any reports good or bad before I make the drive Saturday morning?

    Re: Casters

My father lost a pole overboard while fishing in Canada years ago that I dredged back up. But the odds of snagging one in Erie are probably pretty slim. Especially with a fish still lugging it around.

    Re: Casters

Early morning or when you have a good chop or cloud cover I tend to fish in the 5-10 count range. As the sun comes up and or wind dies down I generally have better luck closer to the bottom. I often...

Some good casting reports!! I hate fishing the crowd also. I seem to have more consistent luck when I'm outside and away from the pack. I have to believe that the fish scatter as the pressure builds...

Hudson's. Was you getting gas at Drawbridge marina when you came back in? If not I was talking to another crew that did good on white spoons in the same area!

Did you go north of C? Often when the wind dies so does the bite. Some times a slow lift n drop on bottom will entice them when the wind dies.

There was a 1-2 foot chop from the ENE most of the morning which cooled it down and kept the ankle biters away.
