I see that many bait shops sell frozen minnows, how many of you that perch fish use them and how do they work? Are they frozen in alcohol?

Have been using Seaform with non-ethanol gas for years, NO PROBLEM

many articles on the internet on ways to salt minnows, Ohio DNR has a good one. Most have a brine to soak minnows in before salting. I did that before using the alcohol method, salting was a pain.

Don't worry about them dying, we never use a whole minnow anyway always cut in half. Drain water and put them in 91 % wintergreen rubbing alcohol, keep cool, works great.

Are your minnows just froze in water or is something else added also to the water?
