Newbie steelheaders

Any time you can get a kid on the water, it is a good thing. Today was no exception. After my radio interview with Dan Armitage on Buckeye Sportsman I invited him to come to Conneaut with his 15 year old son Ethan. Today it happened and I couldn't be happier. After a 3+ hour drive from central Ohio they were on the Holly Lucas and into steelhead in less than 10 minutes. Ethan handled the fish like a pro and Dan netted the fish just like I showed him. It was after the first fish I learned that neither of them had ever been steelhead fishing even though Dan has a 20 CC Aquasport. I think the long drive was a big deterent. When the day was over and they had their limit of shinny steelies, Dan said he would have to reconsider running up to Conneaut. Silver/chatreuse Hot n Tot and 1/2 oz Orange/chrome KO Wobbler did the trick today. About today....65 degrees and light winds on December 13. Was this all a dream?
