Is there a Senior Launch pass available? I'm 64 and cheap, just wondering?
good luck with that
I don't know the age starting point but I believe SRs launch free at state launches .
Monday through Friday seniors free. Just wondering if there was a card from the state.
plus I wanted to get arise outa you guys.
You just sit back and collect your SS quietly like the rest of the retired guys ! LOL
Last Year - I launched out of the Small Boat Harbor during the week for free with the jet ski. :o Being over 62. That will probably change this year. I do keep my boat on my trailer at Sturgeon Point and launch it every time I go out. Bailey knows this. I use to get out on the jet ski after work for a few hours if not taking the boat out. That was nice. This was before they made improvements to Gallagher Beach. They made improvements and then they charged. The STATE has to go to an out of state organization to manage the harbor. What BS. Da! I think Bailey should run it. ???
I agree I'd charge you retired folk double so I get my Social Security money back that probably won't be there when I retire lol but at least you all know how to launch and retrieve a boat in a timely fashion , so maybe I'd let you all launch free. Ha ha now the weekend warriors yes you know who you are I'd make a special launch with seating so we can watch the festivities, I'd sell food and drinks to cover the Sr's free pass. LOL
FYI, There is a pass seniors can get.(over age 62) The state has a "Golden Park pass" which I have which is free that is good Mon.-Fri. at all state launches & parks for free launching & enterance to the parks across the state. They also have an "Empire Pass" for $65 a yr. That is good for the same as above & week ends. For the Vets. they have a "Liberty Pass" which is free to disabled Vets that is good for all of the above! I think they all include camping in the state parks also. There are 178 state parks across the state. Contact info: NY., Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation, Can call; Tom Rowland, 585-682-4888 , park manager- Oak Orchard Maine Park. or Roland Beck, 585-493-3600 park manager- Conesus Boat Launch. I am old , retired , on a fixed income & cheap also! Bailey FYI, Its My S.S. money that I am getting back after paying into it for over 50 years! get your own dam $$$! lol! You young guys need to change things back to the original intent of it so there is $$$ when you guys do retire!
Stiksave, never liked being in the dirt, preferred being 40'-50' above it. lol(Nyse&g)
I was also at the catt on saturday. Along with some nice perch, I ended up catching 10 smallmouths and a nice laker on a crappie rig.
I was out Sunday.
just got back from meeting for smb its my understanding safe harbor will not honor the 65 and older pass/ plus if you want to use fish cleaning station it will cost you /along with a increase to launch/no shuttle
will be available. if you have a 20ft dock and its in you will be able to dock this weekend any ? email [email protected]
there gonna be a lot of pissed off people waiting to launch and retrieve with no shuttle there was a wait at times with 2 shuttles did they say anything about the bait shop?
I want to go but I don't get out to 6pm
there plan is to move the launch to north side of gas dock or over by freezer queen / nothing said about bait shop.seems to me they are here to run a marina not a boat launch /they said would have a boating
store and a convenience store to sell t shirts .they are here to make money (Quote)
they said if its to rough they may have to put in a small break wall ???? or move it to the other side of that big white building??? (quote) freezer queen ??? really??? . now i have to put them on my ins policy???.
not stated at first paper work i got so back to ins agent. i dont think anybody knows what they are doing there
here's another bit of news - their looking at letting boaters park at any one of the 3-lots (entry, middle, or former dugs dive lot., there will either be an extra fee for weekends and maybe lot closeness or both for this parking. there still working this out. most anything you want answered I could probably find out as long as i'm not too heavily inundated.
...but yes we're getting screwed!!
not to get off the subject but coming back from the sbh on the on ramp to the sky way a car is pulled over and see people on the bike path kneeling down/there is a doe giving birth next to bike path/cool made my day
I think what happen is the state doesn't have anything to do with the marina just the park that they are putting in so the guy from tenn. can do what ever they want with the marina dugs dive bait shop parking ect. and as long as they make improvements the state wont say anything to them that's just my opinion

yes, safe harbor is the vendor for the nys parks. parks assisted in putting in their docks, maintaining their grass cutting and additional maintance issues (sweet deal uh)! The parks property runs south from the fish cleaning station toward gallenger beach and a bit toward the the grain mills. If anyone remembers last season on memorial day (i was in it) there was a long line of boats waiting to retrieve, the line went out to the entry of the harbor and that was with the shuttle running, just imagine what it will be like this memorial season and no shuttle.
Parks will use (still in the works) a good bit (1/2) of the lots where there was car and trailer parking. Safe harbor with cut their teeth on us this season and really stick it to us in 2016
every slip holder will be issued 2 parking passes that you must have to park in slip holders lot and they will have personal there to enforce & direct (Quote)
If you go to the Buffalo Harbor state park web site, you will see amenities & activies. & it states that the Empire passes can be used. JMO. but maybe we seniors should ( I am) contact our Reps. & the Erie canal harbor development people & let them know that our Vets. & we seniors should not be sh*t on. again jmo My rant is over! lol
