loosing gold worm harness

last weekend we were fishing north of Rattlesnake, on one rod I was using had a worm harness with gold beads and a #5 gold Colorado blade that I had made with 12 lb. line. During our trip, I got 3 hard hits on the line and when I checked the bait the harness was gone and only had about 2 of the 3 ft. of line left. This happened 3 times, loosing all three harness. Any one else had this happen and what could cut the line that fast ? I know musky and pike are in the lake but never caught one, any ideas ? I was using other colors, same line on all, no other problems, just on the gold ones.
