headed out of sterling just before daybreak. lots of marks from 14 ft out to 20 ft. lots of nice marks too! trolled for about 2 hrs then ran to out infront of stoney. not as many marks. trolled a line for about 40 mins. picked up and ran back into BB. started a troll along some wpts in 16 f.o.w. at 11a.m. first walleye on and in the boat. over the next 4 hours we landed 5 keepers, 1 short and 2 nice perch. 16.5 ft was the depth. shallower and we got sheephead and white perch. deeper we never got bit. we lost 3 on inlines off boards. bouncers with my white blade and a silver blade produced all the walleye except one on a perch DDHJ. no other colors were working. 1.2 to 1.4 mph. the weather guessers were wrong again. strong winds out of the east. floating weeds but not too bad. DNR was at the ramp checking fish. I guess we were the only ones with walleye as most everyone was fishing for perch.
It is common for the walleye to move east as the season progresses. Try out of Vermillion or Huron areas. Deeper water
