I found this today on the south Shore of Johnson's Island. I'm guessing it came from the Sandusky River. Perhaps someone familiar with the area west of Sandusky Bay has an idea where the beaver could be that worked this stick?

Yes there are beaver in Ottawa county. They are in East Harbor State Park, and they are also in West Harbor as well. Beaver cut down one of my neighbors pine with about a 6 ' diameter in ONE night. They have also chewed on his maple and Cottonwood trees until he wrapped the trees with chicken wire. They are fun to watch swimming on the water!. They swim in West Harbor during the day, but they don't touch the trees until nighttime.
