Kellys Island area 7/11/22
Left east harbor and headed for Huron this morning but decided to check a WP from last year SE of Kellys in 40 ft of water. Had some decent marks so we put the lines in and boated 4 walleye in the first 20 minutes. Stayed in that general area from 9:30-1pm. Called it as the waves were continuing to build and it just wasnt fun anymore. Hooked 20 walleye: lost 6 at the net and had 4 throwbacks. Kept 10 fish all in the 18-21 inch range. Perch and blue/chrome spoons all with 1 inch nightcrawler attached for scent. Most fish came from 30-35 ft with a couple at 25 ft. Dipseys at O setting 50-60 back. 3 setting 72-85. 40 jet caught a couple at 115. A few junk fish. Decent marks in that area and a little closer to home.
Speed 2.0-2.5.

Thanks
I worked that area last year. It was slower than farther East but OH is that shorter trip worth it. Especially this year with gas prices. I'll give it a try when the wind calms a little.
THANK YOU!

Friday July 15, 2022. Fished same area today with 3 fishermen on board. 9-2pm. 14 in box. Lost 2 at net. 15 throwbacks. Biggest fish was 26 inches. Fished same program with spoons. Graphed lots of fish just slow going. Speed was 2.5-3.0. Sounded like boats that went further east did much better and faster. Fish cleaning businesses on marblehead were busy. Ready to start looking for perch.
