Ashtabula Walleye Small Boat 7-21-20 WARNING STATE NETS

left boat ramp at 9:00 A.M
9:30 lines in water 50 FOW
trolled North East at 2.5 MPH into wind
using all spoons 3 1/2 " 3 oz. weight
spoons great in A.M. for last 6 weeks
11:25 nothing caught
changed to Wobblers 3 oz. and Bandits 1 oz.
BY 1:30 P.M. caught 10 Walleye
kept first 5 19 20 21 22 22
hot spot looking for big one
released 17 and 18
released 2 smalls 12 and 13
landed FAT 21" good enough for me
limited out
thought I will fish for fun
motor started hesitating. not working right
started to troll in
2 more smalls released
3 more lost
it was hard to land fish with concern for motor
at 52 FOW all lines up
limped back at 4.5 MPH
changed spark plugs QL type removed
replaced with original spark plugs sped up to 6.5 MPH
got home tested in drive way motor seemed normal
I am now against QL type spark plugs
simply not as good
STATE NETS ARE NORTH EAST OF ASHTABULA RAMP
NORTH OF 42 NORTH
THEY ARE MORE THAN A HUNDRED YARDS WIDE
THIS IS THE PRIME SPOT FOR WALLEYE FISHING
THERE IS A RED FLAG STICKING STRAIGHT UP ON BOUY
THERE ARE ALSO WHITE AND GREEN BUOYS LEFT AND RIGHT OF RED FLAG BOUY
I was just south of nets
once again all keepers 63 - 67 FOW
mostly 65 - 67 FOW
there are bait fish at 56 FOW
I bounced the bottom with spoons at 56 FOW trolling slower nothing biting
not sure why spoons went dead
gold Bandit caught 5 Walleye
