Early Morning Bite 7/20

Got out fishin for a few hours yesterday morning, Took off from the dock around 6:30 headed for Round Reef I set up on West side of the reef with a nice drift, 40 minutes in had 4 keepers an lost one nice fish at the boat, as the day went on bite slowed down finished with 5 good keepers 19-22 inch, a few shorts an a mix of junk fish, also lost my last fish twice at the boat. but I was back at the dock At 10:30. Not a bad morning though, Caught fish anywhere from 14ft-22ft, casting gold harnesses, 5/8 weight.

nice report. Did you have success drifting over highpoint of reef, or parallel to the edges? Did you do better on the wind side, or on the lee side?
WEre you letting bait hit bottom then retrieve, or something else? I'm trying to get better fishing around the reefs.

First couple drifts were over the high part of the reef 12ft-16ft, as the day went on an fish moved off the reef I moved over to the East side of the reef to 17-22ft of water. Caught all my fish within a couple feet of the bottom so it was almost waiting for it to hit the bottom then a slow retrieve back.

Is Round Reef inside the firing range? I haven't heard of it and when I googled, that's what came up.

Yeah just inside the range N 41.37.05 W 82.59.65 should be reef coordinates
