maume river update thurs

fishing weds night was great limits in less than an hour, maney fisherman
sorting or fishing for fun, river lower have to go down to 3/8 ounce. Thurs
morning river has drop and fishing has slowed, four of us only caught 5 in two
hrs, but 4 men next to us were sorting after 9am. 1/4 oz sinkers or 3/8 at most, 4 ft. leads a must, 6 to10 lb. line and light to meduim rods are best,
leave all the heavy tackle home, very small floaters (white bass style) also
small twister tails 2 inch largest at best, colors pink, orange, white, fire tiger.
and pink and white, berkly power bait is working better than plain twisters
just cast out hold your rod high and let it drift down, walleyes are swallowing
the baits, very few snag fish, 95 percent are males

From my experiance fishing the maumee river when water levals are at a low like 583 and lower white st and orleans park are not very good spots to fish u need to try fishing blue grass island on up to river/jeroam rd they seem to be more productive spots at low water. My favorite spot is shrowders camp ground not to bad on snags and a buddy of mine fished there thurs morning and had his limite early, total catch was 15, fished till noon. But theres is a five doller parking fee thats the only bummer, good luck thanks for all the updates.
