Lakeside Report 5/12-13/2020
Made my first outings of 2020 on the Cayenne Angel with a friend from Columbus.
Found walleyes widely scattered south of Kelleys on Tuesday and West of Kelleys on Weds.
One fish coughed up a 4 inch shad which made sense of the fishfinder marks with bait and larger fish showing up close together.
No takers on anything with a worm....not even a drum.
They did want chrome finish bandits (any color) 55 back on a planer board or 150 back on a long line (14.5-15.5 feet deep according to my trolling app), 1.5 mph average speed.
Kind of a slow pick for us, but these are beautiful fish this year. Average 2 1/4 lbs each and fat for their length. Perfect for fried, broiled, blackened or however you like your walleye cooked.
Hope we all get some more days without the spring winds.
