walleye on tuesday

Started trolling on a flat lake Tuesday morning out of Lagoons in 40-55 fow. Marked very few fish below 20 fow. Only picked up 5 using dipsy's and spoons/stick baits in over 2 hours. Tried all depths and varied speed. Around noon the wind picked up and now we had a perfect walley chop going. We decided to put away the trolling gear and cast for those shallow fish. Picked up our last 7 fish in less than an hour. That was the first time I switched from trolling to casting to get fish. What a beautiful day on the lake.
