5/31 Rocky River solo trip

Launched out of the Rocky River about 10 and went north to 39 fow, put the lines out and trolled north. First four fish were caught on "chicken wing" spoon with a dipsy w/o ring on a 3 setting 75 back and the other two on a "chartreuse pooh bear" (I think that's the name). Caught the fish in 45-50 fow and had to circle around twice to get the last two because the bite shut off for an hour. There were great marks out there and the lake was beautiful but the bugs were probably the worst I've dealt with. Fish were 20-24". Any suggestions on what to use to keep the bugs off?
