late report from 3-23
a friend and I launched from catawba a little later than planned but we set up by f can about 1. we were working mostly a North and South line. we had really good marks with the best being below 20ft. water was a touch dirtier than most would like to find, but we had reports from here that it was working. after almost 3 hrs we only had 2 eaters, 1 lost about 40 ft back, and 1 swing and miss. the marks were getting thin and the boats were getting thick.
we pulled gear and headed south towards g can. set up with an east to west line this time since the waves had settled out. marks were not anything to brag about, but figured give it 30 mins or so and nothing we would move again. set the same as f, bandits 50/70 on one side 60/80 on the other. speed 1.2ish. black and blue chrome and huffy daddy chrome. water was much cleaner down hear, almost too clean I was thinking. bite and grade were better for us. pulled #8 about 530 with big fish going 30" and 10 pounds, 1 26" with the other 4 being 20-23.
sure was nice to be out on the water, even got a little light sun burn

Some nice fish there. Sounded like a little bit of hunting was to be had like usual.

was glad to have you out with me, we will do it again soon hopefully. the old little girl for sure is not a pretty, or as fast, or all the fancy gadgets that all these new rangers and lunds and nitros have. but most of the time she does the job and gets me back home safely. more importantly I can afford it
