Sheffield Lake Area, 31 August, 3 Sept.
Went out twice this weekend from Sheffield Lake launch ramp starting at about 8:30am both days. Drove due north from the ramp to 50ft. depth and trolled north/northeast about 4-5 miles out and came back same way. 1 man limit both days in about two and a half hours. Similar to a couple weeks ago, no concentration of fish anywhere to be found and no pattern as to depth. So when in doubt, go to the bottom. Fish were caught on worm harnesses fished near the bottom with 2 and 3 ounce in-line weights. Slow pick but fish seemed to be most active between 10 and 11 AM. Unlike two weeks ago when the SW wind kept blowing strong all day, wind died down by noon making the trip in much more pleasant. Was fortunate to pick up a 25" fish today while rest were 19-20". As the fish have spread out, my two go to lures are harnesses with Warrior's Black Mamba and Kellys Island Crusher blades.
