2018 Walleye Spawn
Was out perch fishing today and caught at least 10 walleye that were 2 inches or less. A seagul sadly ate one as we put it back lol... Anyway, someone from the ODNR was at the boat launch asking questions and measuring some of our fish for a survey. She mentioned that this years hatch was probably the best it’s been in many years. I think some of it has to do with the lack of fishing pressure this spring. Seemed like every day I tried to get out it was cold and windy... Anyway, cheers to the future of the lake!

Happy to hear they think this year was a good hatch but I find it hard to believe it could be the best in years. we’ be had a couple of dandy’s here lately. Also, it has been proven many times that fishing pressure has no effect on the hatch - it is more weather related as to allowing the eggs to survive and hatch.
