8/2 Evening Perch Report

Fished 4 hours directly north of Cooley Canal 2.6 miles. Bite would come and go. No bling Gold or Red hooks on no bling spreaders did much better than anything else. 5 guys and 136 perch. Caught another 20+ small ones. Average size was just over 8". Largest was 10 1/4". Fish were smaller than what we have been catching further out or around light house and shipping channel. Bait had to be on the bottom. Several were caught as you would slowly, and I mean slowly lift bait off the bottom. We would sometime have to pick the bait up off the bottom as much as 3 feet before they would grab it.
