To paint or not paint?
Going to dock my starcraft 196 this upcoming season. Have what I think is a strange question but wandering about special bottom paint. My rig is a 2016 and obviously it is painted from the factory. Would I be wise to paint from water line down with bottom paint even though it's aluminum and already painted. I'm not sure if the factory paint is specialized for long term in water.

If you do decide to apply anti fouling paint make sure you get one that is compatible with aluminum hulls. The ones with copper in them do not get along with copper. Plenty of info online. The paint that is on it from the factory will do nothing to stop fouling.
If it has spent its life on a trailer, it will never be the same after a season in the water, just to let you know.

If it's going to sit in the water, you really should put an anti-fouling paint on it.. Look into Pettit Neptune 5 anti-fouling paint.... good stuff.

Thanks everyone for the heads up on the paint situation. Looks like I've got some research to do.
