I am going up this weekend to start fishing. Boats been in for a month and weather is finally good to get out. Was wondering where if any clear water is along with good bites for walleye around the islands. Also wondering if any crappie are in around the docks yet, wanting to fill a bucket with slabs and seeing if anyone has any good marinas I can fish in.

Thursday I was over in the East Harbor out of the Bass Haven Marina. They allow fisherman who do not dock there to come in to fish. It was a stiff East wind, but I got about 5 black crappie, no white crappie, and they were decent size 9-10" fish. Also got about 7 big Bluegill in there too. I fished for about four hours. East Harbor seems to hold more fish than West Harbor, perhaps because the wanter is much cleaner there. I think we are still early, as the Black Crappie usually seem to come in before the White Crappie do. On Wed, the guy next to me got about 75 Black Crappie, but they were mostly small and he threw the majority of them back he told me.
Fished tonight at E. Harbor for crappy and nada.:(
