Went out to the harbor light in 18ft of water with three other guys caught 120 perch from 645-1145am 24lbs at butch and Denny's. A lot of small ones but managed a few 10' used shinners we got from the bait cave on summit street

Butch and Denny's is just west of Meinkes West/Anchor Point's entrance on Corduroy Rd. they have Bait and Tackle as well as fish cleaning.

I called the cave on summit yesterday they told me they have shiners mixed with sand minnows which look like a shiner but with a brown back any one ever heard of them
Yes the Toledo lighthouse and the minnows we used from bait cave if they weren't all emerald they sure produced like them. The brown stripe on the back are only difference. To many people get hung up on the bait hell when you walleye fish it seems the perch will eat crawlers to.
I assume they're referring to sand minnows as what comes from rivers creeks and streams, they do look like an emerald , except they don't have the luster and they have the brown backs with small black spots on them..... we seine them a lot at the grand rapids dam to put in our pond.
