mikes sport fishing (not a report)

I was checking out the website and it tells about 8 hr trips. Does anyone know if it is a set departure time. It would be worth a day off to get an eye or 2 through the ice. I haven't ice fished erie since I was a kid and that was perchin. I hit marinas and inland lakes a few times a year but usually just for somethin to do.

I was also wonderin if I go alone will there be others to pair up with. Not sure I can find anyone willing to spend the dough. I reckon I have heard you guys talk highly about this fellow mike patterson.

I guess I'm just wonderin if would be a good time for just me to make the trip. My freezer has plenty of gills and perch, but I'm outta eyes.

I don't have a trailer for my sled to get it out there. I'm on 2nd shift and work pretty much 7 days a week so day of the week doesn't matter. I'm good with directions but I'm not familiar at all with the launches out that way. My tackle is mainly pan fish but do have a good selection of stuff I bought this year with hopes of gettin out.for eyes. I'd be grateful for the offer to tag along. What kind of line does everyone use? I'm not a fan of braid but if that's what it takes...

Went to my local bait shop here in town and he said he's hearin real good things about crane creek. Somethin about past the ledge or somethin like that.

The guys I'm meetin are gonna be out friday and saturday so they can scout out where the fish are. Then all I gotta do is show up and reel

Do you tie direct or use the round swivels? I'd like to be set up when I get there somewhat. This may sound dumb but you don't use them spring bobbers on your rod tips for walleye do ya?

After takin all weekend off of time and a half and double time sunday I'm sittin home doin nuthin. Ran around town all week gettin stuff together and building an ice sled/fishing chair I got blown off. Was set up to meet some guys this morning to go eye hunting. Was in touch all week and then the weekend gets here my texts go unanswered. For everyone out there, think it through before you commit to invite someone fishing. And if for some reason you can't follow through, at least let the guy know. Its kind of a let down on my end of the deal. Ill post pictures of my ice fishing contraption soon. Turned out pretty cool, but I haven't tried to pull it yet. Lol

Yeah, that stinks. Had a guy do that same thing to me and the boy from Ludington last year salmon fishing. True bummer!

Mastercraft, your title says Mikes sportfishing, is he the one who stiffed you or was it soup????? Or are they the same...

I don't think this incident had anything to do with Mikes Sportfishing!

I think it has more to do with some of MasterKraft's fishing buddies(ex fishing buddies now) who had promised to go with him and then did not show up or contact him after reconfirming during the whole week they were still going. Left him high and dry at the departure time and place and then would not acknowledge or return his text messages.

At least that is how I read and understood it.

Tim, I know how you must feel. I've been stood up more than once so you have to choose your friends wisely. Come spring and open water off Catawba, I will see that you get on the lake and do my best to put you on some walleye. I've got your number and as I tell all the friends who fish with me, it is only going to cost you a "Thank you" and a smile. Stay in touch.....

No it did not have anything to do with Mikes. Just to clear that up. This thread srarted by asking about annice trip.

I have a ranger bass boat Dr. Ed, I can get some eyes in spring and summer. I appreciate the offer, will keep you in mind. The last time I fished erie ice I was a kid and that was perchin. I just wanted to pull some of them pigs through the ice, get pics and send them on their c way. Couple jacks for the table would also be nice.

It would have been nice to get a heads up if there was a change in plans, that's all. No real big deal. A guy fRom work told me if I get my sled to his house I can leave it for the season. He lives by metzgers, so I'm still workin on gettin out there. Fish On guys!

Hey Tim... So sorry you went through that!!! I wish you would have contacted me this weekend (for a back up plan). I had 19 other guys in our network and I know I had room for you and so did a couple of other guys who went alone on the quads. SOMEBODY HAD ROOM!!! That hurts!! I was willing to help a couple of guys coming in from NY and they told me they had a ride but I was there for back up if they didn't show. Afishhawk helped a guy out who didn't have a ride and told him to meet him there and he took him. That's what you call sticking to your word!!! I believe Soup was in our network..... This is my first trip to Erie Ice Fishing this Saturday Morning (2/28) , I been on Saginaw Bay and Saginaw River several time, so now looking to Erie. HOWEVER, never ice fished here.:( I'm traveling from the Jackson, MI Area, and looking for a place to park and suggestions on where to go. I have all the gear, sled, shantie, gear. Also, just signed on to this forum, and been pleased. Just need advice on "where" to go?
