What time of year?...reef runners, husky jerks, harnesses, spoons...give some specifics and we can help you buy the right things.
More spring time for trolling but if we here walleye biting late in year we can troll then. Late in year we like to perch fish. That was all we did last year. We already have harnesses. Gold with red eyes. Our normal spot is out by toledo water intake side but will trailer boat to other spots if we need to. Just new at trolling and we are kind of lost at it.
spoons, michigan stingers or similar spoons, netcraft spoons work great, colors helment, citrus, puple demom, cat dog, to name a few, back side of spoons is important, chartuse , bright pink, or gold. perch rigs skipper nine rigs or similar rigs on bottom with slack line, later on in season for walleyes double willow leaf worm harness, this is a start we will everyone else expanded on the personal best colors. For early spring, it's hard to go wrong with Reef Runner 800 series. Some of my favorite colors are bare naked, green flash, pearl ghost, cranberry crusher, toxic purple, barbie, wonderbread. Size 12 Down Deep Husky Jerks in firetiger, purple glass perch, clown are good too.
The water temperature and water clarity can be a key factor on what to use and how fast to troll.
Early spring i like to use crankbaits. Last year we mostly used bandits and deep diver hunky jerks. I have added some of my favorite custom colors of each.

Lengle88. Please be aware that the Reef Runners do need a "tuning" to run properly and have to be checked when set in the water. Start with the dhj's.

Troll spoons we limited with 5 guys trolling spoons 8 times in May and June. And another tip big boards are better and easier than in lines.
Besides jet divers and spoons, I like to use Rattle Tots after the mayflies are done in June. They work good if the spoons are not producing much. Pull the rattle tots 2.4 to 2.8 mph and 60 to 120 ft back all summer. I troll around the reefs also in the summer if the deep water action is slow. Another lure series is the Trolls 2 (TT). Lure types to get so you have 2 basic ones to try is the long skinny style like Reef Runner 800 and 12 Husky jerk. A shorter but fat bait like Hotn tot / rattle tot or DT/ Dives to or the old Killer Bs by Bagley. Jets n spoons with will be the most used by most people most days. Then worm harnesses can be trolled slow also behind jet divers or use inline weights. Get a trolling book to show the dive curve depth for lures. Depth of lures varies with speed, line type and diameter.
