The Ice Man Commeth!
Bring it on. I've been waiting a year for that to happen.
Everyone please be safe out there. Be sure to post photos and youtube videos of your ice fishing adventures in the next couple of months for others to enjoy.

yes this the other capt, mike running guide service on the islands yes they walk out, no machines and did catch a few, reel sport capt mike johnson runs the main land and is not running yet to much open water.
Guys were out today at Catawba on reported 5-6 inches. Also guys 2to2.5 out of Camp Perry with fish as well. Captain Mike Patterson works off the mainland with safe ice and South Bass only if mainland ice is not safe. For the guys that are waiting for ice like last year , good luck with that. 99% percent of the winters there is open water all winter on the lake. Playing the wind is the only smart move.

1-13-2015... Getting close
Time for me to hang a giant on our cottage outta turtle creek. Usually I ride all winter. But this year I'm going for a giant. Just over 13. If not let them go to do their thing. Be safe
Looks pretty well locked up by Catawba.
Anyone fishing East or West Harbor?
I think thats a gr8 call! Hope you hang that 13 plus!!! Ive fished the lake for a few years, when I get the chance. I think the BIG EYES are gr8 for pics, then release. When it comes to eating or freezing them I prefer the smaller ones.Just MY OPINION.Best of luck to you!!!
Hey fellas I am wanting to get up there for my first ice fishing trip on lake Erie. I have Monday - Thursday available to go and was hoping I could tag along with someone who knows where to go. I have all my own equipment just don't have anyone to go out with. I was hoping to go next week if the ice conditions hold out. Let me know, thanks!
I with ya on catch and release of big fish... however I have put in alot of time in and would like just 1 for the cottage wall! I figure I set the bar at 13 lbs which I think is fair... Good luck and be safe
