Gull Shoal is north Kelly Shoal is N East
Marked with a buoy? How far off the buoy is the shallow? Any idea
Go here, you can zoom in to where ever you like. This is the Navionics web app. You can measure distances and everything. pretty cool

Thank you. Honestly not really sure now which shoal it was lol.
Be careful if it was Gull Island Shoal it will get your lower unit, maybe more! There is a shallow spot on Kelly Shoal also but not near as many nor quite as shallow as Gull Island Shoal. Gull Island Shoal should have a skull and cross bones sign on it.
So any idea which would produce some eyes at night?
Guess nobody wanna share any info lol. Thanks anyways
Both produce. I like to anchor in 12 foot of water and cast to shallower water. I like kelly island shoul better. I am sure that bite is already there but will get alot better on hot summer days. This is only my humble opinion
try this first,
on the long point of the main island, not the shoal, there is a wide rock on the east side of the point we call "table rock". it is visible as it is mostly on the shore, shallow in there so be careful but not as bad as Gull.
stay out 50-75 yards or so and cast to the rock with a small crank, i have even let the crank sit on the rock and then pull it into the water. it usually produces one or two fish in the evenings and early mornings. then just follow the shoal like skipper 9 says and set anchor in deeper water 12-15 feet or so and cast to shallow.
btw/ table rock is MY rock, i claimed it 30 years ago, but you can use it this time!....

I am sorry I misread your post.
There was a charter Capt. who prided himself on the hogs he would catch at Gull Island Shoals. His boat was called the Headhunter and his name was Jerry Able. He used to dock at Channel Grove. He would sneak around those humps with an electric trolling motor mostly in the early morning before the fish moved off to deeper water. I am not sure what he had his customers casting as far as lures, but he would catch some huge eyes in that area. But he would only fish it with the right wind direction. So I know that area of skinny water around Gull Island Shoals produced some large fish in the time that I was at Channel Grove.
Thanks much guys for the feedback.I've fished this are a few times with other guys and did pretty good at night was just looking forward to running my own boat out there and casting for some:D. And we also dropped anchor on the edge and fasted into the shallow.
