What year are you looking at?
Number of hours on?
Make sure it has enough power as some of the older models were serverly under powered most of those had Volvo Pentas in them. A friend of mine has one that is at least 12 years old and still going strong his has a V8 for power. He bought it new and has taken excellent care of it and it shows. They are a very nice boat for Erie when powered properly. Most of the newer ones are powered just fine. Of course if it is an OB then you have more options.
It is a 1991 with 400 hours it has a 4.3 liter v6
It is a mercruiser
I would spend the money to get a boat survey/inspection done if you are serious. I had a 27' Sportcraft, used to run salmon charters in Michigan. The DNR did the inspections/surveys and were always complaining about the Bayliner's having problems with stringers and transoms being bad. Just a suggestion.
This is our boat. It's a 2000 with a 150 horse Merc. Outboard still looks and runs brand new. Plus we made a lot of upgrades. But never have had a problem.
it has already been checked out and passed with no rot in the transom or stringers thanks for all the info the boat definetly passes the eye test thats for sure and its already set you for trolling with the downriggers and planer boards
I checked into a bayliner with cuddy. I chose to buy a caravelle walk around instead. I didn't want the cuddy and I am happy with the walk around.
We had a 2005 Bayliner Trophy 2052 with 4.3 Mercruiser. We liked the boat very much, easy to maintain and looked good. Sold it in 2012 to get a bigger boat. Not once did we have to take it back to the dealer for repairs. Had all the power we needed top end about 38 mph.
I am curious as to the model number or size. Are you still docking at Beef Creek?
Yes waking I'm still going to be docking at beef creek I currently have a Thompson 240 fisherman and I plan on trading it in or selling it outright it's a model 2159 bayliner trophy hardtop with a cuddy the only thing I'm not sure about is the placement of the fridge and the sink its right behind the captains seat
Wakina sorry about the spelling error
I had a 1989 2159 Trophy it was underpowered but it only had the 3.0 litre. It would handle Ontario waves quite well. I always wanted to rip the fridge and sink out to make more room it just ended up being a storage area. I always wished it had more room fishing room in the back. But all in all it was a decent boat.

Thanks for all the suggestions I appreciate it
Gentlemen,
I have had three of the newer Trophy's. I liked them all. 2004 19' center console, 2009 1952 (great boat!), finally got the 2352 last year (2008). Would I like to have a Grady White...sure. I think for the price Trophy are a good boat. Have to take care of them...I cannot believe what some folks wanted for an oversized bird bath/beer cooler. Never cleaned them let alone take care of maintenance.
