Has anybody heard if the perch and walleye bag limits are going to be lowered .
I believe the new info come out in May.
The Great Lakes Fishery Commission will meet sometime in March, it consists of a bi-national board of fishery managers from Michigan, New York, Ohio, Ontario, and Pennsylvania. They will determine what the total allowable catch (TAC) will be based upon the best science currently available to them. Those numbers will be released in late March or early April and those numbers will then be divided up between the different jursidictions that makeup The Great Lakes Fishery Commission and the 2012 bag limits will be set from those numbers by each jurisdiction. So it could be mid to late April before we will know but most likely late March or early april they will release what the 2012 bag limit will be for Ohio.
Of course nothing official yet like mentioned earlier in this thread. What I am hearing from good sources is I would expect walleye to remain at 6 fish. There is a chance that perch could go back down to 25 per day. But we won't know till after the meeting this month.
Lol... Why you talking smack about jiggy This morning.....
Is it too early to make a batch of popcorn for this show?!:D
Both Division of Wildlife & Watercraft had booths set up at BPS last week word from them had Walleye dropping to 4 , May1st..... they are going to be back this weekend along with reps from most major tackle & electronics companies....I'll report back.....Ed
I can see now Im goint to have to defend myself! There is only one person on the Eyehunter boat(correct me if Im wrong Jim) that would be able to school me. I hope to be able to get out with you guys this year. After Jim broke out the grill with cheddar broats and onion mustard and the keystone light capton is there its a party I dont want to miss. Oh and maby we could catch atleast one walleye!
I don't know Uncle Ron may have something to say about that. He always sits back there all quite like. I just know he is schooling us and just does not want to make all of us all feel bad.
Walleye? WALLEYE? As I always say the walleye fishing is nice but the perch fishing is serious business on that boat. I look forward to seeing your new boat out there a bit this year, maybe I can go out on it sometime with yeah when Jim kicks me off the boat for a newer model first mate.
The only reason I stoped to cook was so that the rest of you could catch up to me with the perch count. Lol..

Any time you want to go give me a call. Your right Ron is sitting back saying if them boys really had a clue we wouldn't be on the water for 10 hrs to catch 90 perch.
