I'm also open for suggestions and other spots...not afraid to run.
The vast majority of charter and recreation boats are running to the turnaround bouy and having success.
Yeah that's what I've been reading. Is that the bouy aprox. 7 miles NW of West Sister?
Fished just north of Kelly's the past few weekends and haven't had much luck. A lot of boats on both the northeast and northwest sides, not sure how they are doing. Sounds like fishing has been slow just about everywhere...
Yes- You can check you coordinates on the following page...... http://www.lakeeriesportfishing.com/...inhotspots.pdf
Thanks spoontag. Are there any good places to stay near that area? Also what would be a good ramp to launch from? I'm used to fishing around the Marblehead/Port Clinton area.
I run from Port Clinton. I think the launch that puts you closest in our area is Wildwings. The other idea would be to trailer to Toledo. Wildwings would put you about 15 miles away running due North. There are places to stay near Wilwings too. There is a member that posts that has a camper he rents out there. Getting Jiggy is very familiar with that area.
Thanks. I was looking at Fenwick marina. They have campsites with hookups. Renting a camper would be sweet if it was available. Wish I knew who that guy was.
Running to West sister from Kelley's is about 25 miles. That's not bad if it's not too rough.
Reel Time,
I own a camper, and rent a season lot at floro's camping. Its about 2 miles from wild wings. They do have Mobil home trailers they rent out for around $50.00 a night. If you stop at the old gas station ask for Sue she will help you out. They also have lots with water and electric if you want to pull up your own camper. If you need more info you can PM me.
jumbo perch being caught off of c can around the border
Fished 7/3-7/5, off of the NE corner of Kelley's, nort of Kelley's, and east, out in front of the airport. Varied from 35-45FOW depending on location. Caught SO MANY dinks. Off of the NE corner we did stumble into some nice perch. Didnt stay out long enough limit though.
