Got a 3 man limit drifting 48-51 fow straight outta Geneva Gold harnesses with worms. Only 1 throw back and 18? average

Two of us fished Sunday out of Geneva. Found them straight out as Nick said, but the best depth was 57 fow. We caught are limit casting with weapons. Color did not matter. Was a little slow due to lack of wind. It?s only gonna get better from here on out.

Hit Geneva again on Sunday, 6/7 casting harnesses with 3 kiddos and 3 adults. Kids had a blast reeling in and netting 17 walleyes and a jumbo perch. Only 1 toss back. Grade was decent with only 1 fish needed to be taped before the box. We fished 58-55 fow. Fish were spread out and it was not hot and heavy. We fished from 730 - 130 with a SOG of .4 - 1.0 at times; stiffer wind would have helped. I did hear on the radio trollers picked up their tickets in 45 fow.

Highlight of the day was watching an 8 yr old smack off one of the adult's walleyes at the boat :cool: Also my 11 yr old mastering the swing cast and count. He got 3 of the 17!

That?s awesome Nick. Glad you were able to get your kids in some fish. It is tough out there right now. Two of us were only able to get 10 keepers before we got blown off today. 9 of the 10 were caught in 40 fow dragging the bottom with 1 ounce weights. I don?t believe we have any migratory fish in Geneva yet. I think we are picking at resident fish. Hopefully more fish will move this way soon.

I assume it's gonna be good and get better quickly there soon when the weather cooperates. I fished Barcelona, NY yesterday and the water temp is the same as Geneva/Ashtabula. We did well in 54-60 fow trolling bandits. I posted on the Eastern Basin site if anyone is interested. Nobody posts anything there to help each other so I hope that may improve going forward. I enjoy it and there are plenty of fish for everyone to be successful and enjoy.

Ran the same playbook on Saturday, 6/13 out of Geneva. Went further west towards the stacks (Perry nuclear power plant) and started a drift/slide in 48' - 55' with a good west wind covering 1.0 - 1.8 SOG. 3 man limit in 2 hours in one drift/slide. Swing cast was where it was at! 1oz with gold blade worm harness. Fish are everywhere......I picked a random spot, stopped the boat where no other boats were packed up, and the wind took care of the rest.

Any intel on the mayfly situation out of Geneva? Affecting the bite?

Didn?t see any mayflies out of Geneva today. Caught a 3 man limit casting in 38 to 42 fow just west of the marina. Grade of fish was excellent. Eight of the fish were 24? to 25?. The rest were between 18? and 23?. Didn?t matter what we used as long as it had meat on it.

Sunday 6/21. No mayflies. 5 man limit in 2.5 hours casting in 55 fow. Went west again towards Perry. Fish everywhere

Going to be in Geneva for the week starting Monday. Any intel on depth?

straight north out of the harbor. fish 60' to 70' deep. fish are 50' down. dipsies with spoons and stick baits. what they want changes daily as well as depth they're in. coughing up lots of emerald shiners this week. good luck!

Tough grind out there in this heat! We ran what pfk said, 60-70 fow and pulled 15 of 30 by 10 am. Worm burners and spoons. Kids got pretty tired of it by 10, so we read the room and got the flock outta there

It's been tough the last 2 weeks outta Geneva! I typically am shooting for 4 or 5 man limits, but we fished last week just about every day and the best we did was 22 out of 30. I guess I got spoiled from the last 3 years. IDK if I'm just not that savvy a troller, but I do better drifting and casting gold bladed worm harnesses. We drift fished yesterday in 70 fow gold blades for the first 2 hours, picked up 7 nice fish then decided to troll. Got 5 more by 1 PM. 12 out of 30 :( Anyone else experiencing a slow down?

3 of us only got 7 fish in 6 hours while drifting and casting yesterday. We tried all kinds of colors and depths. Pretty disappointing. However; On Thursday, 2 of us trolled and got 12 walleyes and 2 steelhead in 3 hours. Best depth was 70 to 72. I prefer casting but it may be a year where we have to troll more.

was out today (monday). found lots of fish once i hit 70' of water trolling north. had our 12 by 72'. dipsies and spoons and small stick baits. concentrated on 45' to 50' deep for the fish. nice size fish, just a little on the thin side. good luck!

Ran out to 70 fow today and started trolling NE. Caught 18 really nice walleyes and 3 steelhead in 4.5 hours. 95/105 on #1 dipsey, 120/130 on #2 and 160/175 on #3. Wonderbread, Electric purple, Nuclear purple and Pink Panties caught the majority of the fish. Finished up around the 00 line which was 73 fow.

I'm looking for a pity party! We have been going up from Muncie for the last 20+ years but this year I'm not going to get to go and I just feel sick about it after missing the last 2 years because of a bad motor in my sons boat. We had trouble with it the year before and cu that trip short. And my son procrastinated until June to try and get it in the shop. after the 1st week in JULY i contacted he marina and was told the motor was frozen up and after not getting ahold of me they started spraying oil in the cylinders and rocking the motor to get it loose but had only got it to turn 1/4 turn and asked if I wanted them to continue. I was so disgusted that they did this without my consent. I said a few non mentionable words and said I was coming to get the boat and the fact they were charging me 100.00 per hour for work that should have never been done was disgusting.

then last year my son said he didn't have the money and said it again this year but after me shaming him he agreed to help me pay to have my engine out of my old boat installed but he didn't want to go to Geneva to fish. I am a 75 year old disabled vet and my wife stopped me from going alone after I fell into the Intracoastal waterway at FT Pierce FL back about 10 years ago. So even though I can get the boat fixed I can't possibly go alone.

I'm sorry for wanting a little pity for me just because i dont get to go fishing on Erie at Geneve.
