I was thinking after season winds down maybe pick a small place central to us all and maybe get together so we can shoot the breeze meet and know who we are Sharing and receiving info from. Some place with good food and a little space to share lies and drive other customers nuts. Let me know what you all think.

I am thinking end of September early october after goose and before archery any input as to central location is good I think this could be great for newbies and fun for the experienced angler both.

Just a suggestion ~ Let's choose a place that promotes walleye fishing and contributes to walleye clubs.
I just want to throw this out there - and it doesn't have to be. After looking in the southtowns walleye "the fishline" there are two restaurants listed. One is Rodney's & the other is North Boston Market Place. I've been to Rodney's and the food is good and good service. North Boston I do not know about? There are others listed on the Southtowns Walleye web site , Illio's and others. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Bailey it's your thread. Any other suggestions?
Supporting a good place that supports the fishing is good with me if the place is central to all of us even better. I am 35 miles north west of harbor. I am adaptable to any plan to me its a group thing so its up to all of us. I just had an idea that seemed good
I live in North Java so the southtowns would be ok for me also.
I was assuming that because most of us were in the Southtowns Tournament we were all local to the Buffalo area. I live in the Lackawanna / Blasdell area but I do not have a problem going east to meet. I'm just not familar with anything that way. Baily what area do you live? Fishkiller where do you suggest? Anyone else please make a suggestion.
Sounds good...Heading to lower river instead of Lake Erie today. Generally fish up to November. Very good walleye fishing on bar late october.
How late in season is Dugs Dive open? That would be central to most

FYI - I happen to be at Dug's Dive right now. They said that they are scheduled to close on Oct. 15.
I can do dougs dive most any sat afternoon or evening would work for me
I am thinking do to fall being so hard of a time let's get this together in spring at start of the season. I think it would be better do to work hunting and such. I want it to come together I was leaving dates open for everyone to kind of come together maybe I should of taken a more proactive approach. I think it should stills happen.
I think everyone that would want to take part in this come spring time should forward their email address to you. I dont usually check this board during the winter and early spring due to being an avid snowmobiler and groomer operator for my club. That keeps me real busy all winter. I will be signing on on this website from time to time. Even if there are not many posts from this end of the lake. I check out the other end of the lake and see what's going on there. Hey capt do you have a paper chain with links you tear off every day? Ha ha winter sucks going to Florida for some sun in december and probably ice a few eyes after I get back glad we all shared some good info and tips. This site has the best members that are active in sharing. To bad so many just browse and use info with out sharing if they did share think how good it could be. Have a safe winter all and we smash them in may.
If anyone is interested I stopped by the small boat harbor yesterday during the afternoon on the way home. You can get in through the main entrance still right by Doug's Dive. The A side is all closed off and the docks are out but B is still there, the guys were working pulling out stuff when I was there. They did have a sign out saying all boat ramps are closed for the season.
This is my first real year of fishing erie, how do people get out on the lake after oct 15th? I'm hoping to get out for some more perch...as long as the waves don't go over 2 feet or so...
I browse a lot but don't post too much yet, haven't been out for walleye that much this year, mostly bass and perch.
I will probably take a trip down to sturgeon to see what the deal is there if I get a chance. I have found that I really like to fish erie, don't want it to end!
launch at sturgeon, foot of sheridan , the catt, dunkirk, u can launch at sturgeon untill the harbor ices up.
Bailey- I do have a paper chain. In the shape of WALLEYE. I tear one officials each day to remember what they feel like. I'll be running out of WALLEYE in the the refrigerator before May gets here. I'm not like fishkiller who has probably three fridges packed solid to hold him over.
just 3 freezers joe, 1.5 we fill with walleye and perch the other 1.5 we fill with venison with a little room kept open for ice cream.....(need to keep the wife happy)....lol
I took a ride to the pond today. There were boats on the water, the sun was out, people fishing from shore, boats being trailed and NOT for storage. I walked on a sandy beach, in shorts. The sun was out.
I saw fish swimming off shore. Big fish! Went to the store and seen all different types of fishing from gear.
No -- I'm not on Buffalo. And the pond is the Atlantic.
I'm on Myrtle Beach. I'm going to look into fishing trips tomorrow and see what happens.

The other question I had was, what happens if your boat breaks down out there, off season?
I have a membership to boatus with unlimited towing and I called up their dispatch 800 number to find out. I was told that the service is still available 24 hrs, even during the "off season". He put on hold to look into it, it wasn't just a quick answer, so hopefully that is accurate.
I'm curious if anyone ever had to call for a tow in november, (or before May 15th (the opening) for that matter)
CaptainJoe when I was younger (20's) I fished a few times out of myrtle beach, it was good fishing. (1990's)I think we caught mahi mahi, barracuda (which really didn't fight that much) and others. I can't remember if we caught bonita there or not, but that is one hard fighting fish. I never caught a sailfish, they were seasonal and never hit it right or they weren't hitting the day we went.
Capt sounds like your in the right place. In december I am headed over the tropic line in Florida on atlantic side. Should be interesting fishing not sure what I will catch or what will eat good sure a local will help me out. Have a fun and safe trip post a pic or 2.
Good news guys. I was on the water today. Didn't catch anything. But I saw a few snapper. Actually I was on the lazy river on a tube. Does that qualify as trolling?:)

You gotta watch those snappers dangerous fish especially those red ones. Sometimes its definitely better to just see them rather than catch one out of the lazy river could be tainted water they might just leave a bad taste in your mouth.Lol
I went out in a pier today at Cherry Creek. It's in North Myrtle Beach. It cost me $1.50 a person (me & the wife) to see what's going on. There were probably 40 people fishing. I did not see one fish caught. I had shorts and a tee shirt others were dressed in snowmobile suits and bundled up. I couldn't believe it. Bailey I took some pics but I'm having technical difficulties. Of coarse it must be the phone and not the operator. They wanted $20.00 to rent a pole for a day. I found out that it costs $14.00 for an 11 day fishing license. _
When I've fished from shore at the ocean I always had the best luck fishing right at the crack of dawn, seems like the larger fish move in close to feed. Tough to drag yourself out of bed that early though, especially when you are on vacation with the family and have a busy day planned!
Just out of curiosity, did you check on how much a half day charter is? Sometimes that is negotiable as well. From my memory (and its fading), it was a set amount for the boat, so the more guys that went together the cheaper it was, but you had to spread the fish catching around.
Wow $1.50 just to walk on the pier to see what is being caught, let alone pole rental and license adds up quick.
Yeah nothing is cheep. It's Thurs. evening, and a beautiful evening it is. I'm sitting on the deck looking at the big pond with shorts & no shirt. I'm not rubbing it in because tomorrow the weather is changing here and I'm heading to D C area for one night then going to good old Buffalo. Thanks for the info l. I went to Little River yesterday and saw some advertisements for fishing trips but didn' t want to commit. It's great being here with the good weather and relaxing. You tend to get lazy here. Some one said that they seen a Blue Fish caught caught yesterday off the beach. I did not see it. Just my luck. One week is just not long enough to do everything you want.
Made it back to Buffalo last night. The sun is out and the winds are light. Did anyone make it out on the water toda? The picture from Sturgeon Pt. looks good for fishing. I drove through the snowstorm yesterday. Right through Harrisburg. Got detoured.a few times for fallen power lines and trees but eventually got around them. One day I'm sitting on a sunny beach withdrawal+ 70 deg temps and the next day I'm driving in a snowstorm.
So the weather is getting better the anticipation is growing let's get a date picked and the place. I think end of march would be good for all to plan a gathering if interested in joining those of us who know we will meet up. So let's get this rolling and make the meet and greet happen.
I think Fishkiller conducted his own "Meet and Greet" the the Hamburg Sportsman Show this weekend. Thanks for all the info Jim. While talking to Jim he mentioned all the people that he met from this website. Besides meeting and talking to Jim he refered me to many of his friends. I talked to Duane from Moor Electronics. He has a good product which I happened to take a great interest in. I spoke to his friends at Traxtech. They gave me many great ideas. They do have good products and they are a sponsor on this site.
