Who is fishing the Southtowns Tournament next week and where will everyone be fishing? We should all keep in touch to stay on the fish.
Fishing tournament. Last few yrs fished at Buffalo end. The water this yr is very stained and on Sunday we came up zero. Wind picked up in afternoon. First time out and first time skunked in a very long time.
Think maybe the best thing would have been go shallow and run cranks like they do at night.

Pretty new to the game. Where do you sign up for tourney or is it too late?
It's not too late. I signed up months ago but I know someone that just signed up at Gander Mountain last Saturday. Check the bait shops and sporting good's stores.
You can sign up at the meeting on thursday evening at the armor firehall in orchard park, or all day untill 9:00 pm on friday at the same place.
Tried posting a couple days ago and nothing showed up.
We were out off 18 mile creek towards west in 40-50 fow and couldn't get action. Fished aout 20 ft down. Lots of marks though. Going to try again this afternoon out of Buffalo
I'm trying out of Buffalo starting near the departure bouy then heading wsw west of Seneca Shoals toward Sturgeon Point. Been three years since I fished the tourney. Feel free to contact me on the water as I am not up tight about sharing information call name: Earlybird.
Good luck all ill be posting reports from the water when we start catching fish willl be fishing out of sturgeon due to truck problems.
Hey earlybird I am going to start fishing the east end I have never fished it before I know its productive . When I get out, which I hope is next weekend would you be willing to point me in a good general direction. I always run west but buffalo is 30 miles from my house vs 80 plus. I wanted to get out this weekend but the weather was not promising but should of went sat. Thanks
news has it that an 11.75 lb'er is leading the tourney. caught the first day.
It sounded like a good day around Buffalo and Sturgeon Pt, we ended up with 6 walleyes today and 2 saturday.
Good luck in the tourny to everyone couldnt enter this year. How deep are you guys catching them? Thanks
Made it out at night tonite, wind and water were terrible around Buffalo. Too rough to troll and try and keep speed. switched to three ways and hooked up with a slob. Heavy fish, felt the head shake and my line snapped. It was a biggun. Set up to troll so all I had was a rod set up with 6 lb test. If I had to guess......11.76 :)
In the buffalo area everything im hearing is 30-40 foot range thats what were fishing near meyers reef a budy pickrd one up over 9lbs by the windmills.
Went out Sat. out of Dunkirk. Trolled with planners, jets one side, lead in line weights on the other with all worm harnesses. They were home made. Picked up one walleye, not a weigher. A few sheephead and white perch also.
Went out Sunday out of Sturgeon. Used the same set up. Picked up 6 west of 18 mile creek on one pass. Before that nothing, except for a few sheephead and sliver bass, and after that nothing. Then the wind changed and started blowing. Went in at about 2:00 in the afternoon.
Didn't go out today - maybe the weather will improve for tomorrow.
went out west of sturgeon saturday. fished from sturgeon to evans bar. tried variety of depths, didnt mark many and only caught couple sheephead, perch and smallies. is anyone fishing evans bar at nite and if so is the nite bite still on??
no fish being caught at night last i heard was at least 10 days ago.
Real time report 12:55 pm 5 in the box off Meyers Reef 1 9+.
We were out of Buffalo just off the windmills yesterday in 4 footers....... Caught 7 including one weigher (9.0 lbs).
Were up to 6 now
Just got out late start 1.6 off meters....what depth were you at? In 51...no marks yet.
Coco,

Ill be out there tomorrow call me on the radio
Thank you very much for the info. We moved over towards the windmills and have two sheep head in. Haha Looking like a promising evening. We Will be on the water tomorrow Hopefully with better luck.
we fished in 30' - 35' off the windmills and only 1 to show for it. Last year around this time we limited out almost everytime out, for about a 10 day stretch. Good luck to all, hoping to get out this weekend.
So where would you guys think is better, windmills or myers reef? Good luck
Fishkiller, right after our posts last nite I hooked up with a 7 lb. On my homemade yw/or 180 back on mini dipsey. I did throw on the stop light though. As soon as I landed it my downrigger ball got snagged up and it was mayhem after that. We survived only tangling one line so we send it all back out until dark. (Downrigger ball retrieved w/o damage) did not make it out but looked like a great morning. Lets hear how everyone is doing.
Ill be out tomorrow morning prob at myers. Ill be on channel 68 just ask for First Crack
I was out the last two days from 6:30 am till 2:00 pm the last two days trolling between Myers and the Kellogg's tower. Made a few passes over Myers middle and outer reefs. We picked up 4 yesterday and 3 today. We were using 20 and 30 jets on one side and some in line lead weights on the other with worm harnesses. No weighers just some beautiful fish. Oh yeah, should I say also some sheepheed were hooked. We might try Dunkirk tomorrow. Fishkiller16, was that you I heard on the radio? I understand that you had a pretty good day. Good Luck to All!
Joe it was we ended up with 15- 8 on shark torpedos 50 back, 4 on 5 color lead and 3 on 30 jets 125 back all over 35 fow. We had my 4 year old neice she reeled in 8 of the 15 my wife picked up a 6.46 27 inch weigher.
Only 10:30 am 8 in the box off meyers.
Nice, keep at it....get ya a heavy one. I'll be out this afternoon in the thunderstorm
What are you running? Not in contest, but we'll be out there this afternoon.
Thanks for any info.
fishkiller - had to be a great experience for you neice and your wife. The 4 yr old has to be strong for her age to bring in 8.
I fished out of Dunkirk today. We started out early at 5:30 am. Only have 3 to show but one was a 8.8. At least we have one weigher in the tournament. It got windy out there today. The wind was coming off shore from the south. It was hard to control the boat. The waves wern't too big but we got pushed around. If the weather holds out I should be around 18 mile creek tomorrow.
Joe I'll be out there tomorrow as well hopefully by 7:00 35-40 foot is the key 30 jets, 5 color lead, and shark torpedo's. we were boxed out by 12:30 started at 7:20 fished till 2:00 trying to get another weigher. 3D hot pants double colorado was hot, and a root beer colored prism blade was hot also. most fish came off the lead and the torpedos, the rest came on jets.
I made it out for a few hours yesterday evening and we had a little fun. 5 eyes, 4 sheepies, one bass, and a perch. Mixed bag kept us busy. Hand held three ways on the bottom and mini dipseys 180-210 back over 35ft. Out on boards. Homemade orange and yellow and one 3d stoplight. We had good eaters, but no weighers. Came home and made some cajun blackened....fantastic!
Coco sounds like a good evening. I spent all day today on the lake and got 4 eyes & 1 perch to show. We lost two eyes at the boat. One mis was due to the new wormharness that I just bought at the Small Boat harbor. The crimp fitting on the eye let go. Goes to show you not to trust anything and test it out yourself. At least it wasn't a weigher. Fish Killer - I sent you a PM. And by the way that is a Fine Looking Vessel that you have.
What are the normal lake erie radio channels if someone knows. Thank you
The main channel for fishing is 68. Best of luck out there!
