I would really like to know as well since I would be coming from 3 hours away. Maybe someone in the Marblehead area could do us fisherman a big favor and let us know. I would like to come on Monday weather permitting. Thanks!
It's raining today, so that should help. I'll take a ride over there later this morning and check it out for you guys. I'll post pics...
There’s a dozen trailers in the parking lot this morning at Mazurik’s.
The bathrooms are coming along nicely. The fish cleaning station is not as far along though.
edit: sorry some pics uploaded sideways…files are too big but I’m doing it from my phone so I couldn’t downsize them first..:)
Thank you very much Capt!
Thanks Capt. Juls! You're the best! Looks like they may have needed to navigate through some ice to get out. I would think it shouldn't be more iced up by Monday looking at the temps.
Huron's fish cleaning station is about at the same stage.... But at least the roof is complete.
What about rge water levels ?? With all the harsh west/ swest winds we have been having, I would assume levels to be quit low..thanks in advance...
No problem in Huron. Must be 70 rigs there this morning. Foggy though
Mazurik lot was at least half full yesterday. Ice floes some logs and empty shotgun shells floating common. Found two large schools off Marblehead. Had trouble getting them to bite but when they did we limited out in 90 minutes. Great start to the year. Color didn’t seem to matter. 60-120 back all worked but most bites came between 80-120 back
I did better at 1.1 than my starting speed of 1.6 yesterday around Kelleyes.
Speed was 1.2
That is very cool that they are putting in a fish cleaning station. Thank you for mentioning that. Would you happen to know if there are any plans to do something similar at Catawba? It would be great to be able to at least cut and skin quickly at the end of each day before returning to the hotel. I could pack smaller coolers and save a lot on ice too for multi-day trips. Thank you for all of your great posts!
Meant for Capt. Juls I should have said.
Thank you Capt. Hey, when do you start running your charters this season? I could use some lessons. I also have a friend that wants to buy and set up a boat. I'm thinking going to a Capt. Juls walleye school day would be a very smart investment ;)
Ok, thx!
The state is only doing one per county. Mazurick got the Ottawa County location so nothing at Catawba. Huron-Erie County and Avon Lake-Lorain County.
