I say you come stay right beside me at East Harbor marina. I can follow you out everyday so I don't have trouble finding fish. lol
Been at Bass Haven for 3 years Great place real nice and helpful owners best fish cleaning station I've seen, clean bathrooms and showers, grills, shelters. No water depth issues even spray for weeds in water Highway Bait across street.

I think the REEL SPORT Sportcraft would look great docked at Foxhaven Marina next year. There are 6 newer floating docks available near me right in the mix of other charter captains right on the end of the harbor. Reasonable rates. Short ride to lake exiting Gem Beach. Clean restrooms, showers, fish cleaning stations, plenty of parking, and plenty of gas docks around. I have to agree with Hoss928- Come dock next to me at Foxhaven so I can find the fish. Good Luck in your hunt for dockage Wayne and Captain Mike.
you might look at Channel Grove where the real fishermen are. Just had to put in a little dig.
Are there any good fishing charters out of Channel Grove ? Hmm, I'll have to ask around. lol
Sorry Skipper9. Had to.
send Erik after him skipper 9. Give him a Viking butt whipping.
Yea... I wouldn't recommend fishing with Capt Jim or Capt Erik... You will catch too many fish and it will cost you a fortune to have them cleaned...not to mention that your arm will be sore from reeling them in. LOL!
Can't beat Channel Grove... Been there 4 years and wouldn't consider moving.
Yes we have already talk to channel grove, and yes skipper nine wants us there to, all other places want only casting charters,
yes we are still looking but channel grove is high on the list.
wayne
They only want casting charters because they don't want to explain why you catch bigger fish and more of them... lol
It really is nice to pull right up (or back up) to your boat. I literally can back my truck up to my dock with the tailgate down and step off my truck onto the deck of my boat... no more carrying coolers or equipment down a walkway, or parking hundreds of feet away, and as far as theft goes feel free to ask anyone there and they will tell you that we all watch out for each other and everyone watches the boats closely... Okay, I'll stop telling you about Channel Grove. Did I mention that I can be from my slip to the wide open Lake in less than 6 minutes because it's the first marina in the Harbor?
One of these days when I get my Carolina Classic, that's where it will be. :D
Mad Matt what is the rate for dockage at Channel Grove?
I have a 28.5 ft. 4winns and been thinking about moving next year as well. I am currently at Fenwicks and been thinking about moving a little east. Nothing wrong with the marina, its great in the spring but this time of the year you have to go so far to get big fish. I am not into long boat rides this looks like a better location to me.
I have a 30' Sportcraft and I get a slip with electric... I think it is in the ballpark of $1,000 for the season. I store inside there over the Winter, and I call in the Spring and have them de-Winterize the boat, charge the batteries, and crane the boat into the water, so my bill has more on it, but a slip with electric is right around $1,000.
There are other marina's for far less, but you can't beat the short distance to the Lake, and the drive-up to your boat access. Plus, if you get up early you can follow Skipper 9 out of the dock...

Why do they like having casters as opposed to trollers? Just curious.
East Harbor.. fish due north to the line, go east 14 miles, or west 14 miles. Your right in the middle.
Did Bass Haven for 3 years- but they didnt want any charter action there- but a 100% clean operation.
Now at Channel Grove, and there are alot of us there includding EyeHunters, SpoonFeeder, a great group of verteran casters. The best is the fuel dock and 5 min access to lake.
Hope this helps- ron
Yes we are leaning towards channel grove, fished maney a times
aboard the eye hunter, and you are right you are in the middle
of everything and the fish are bigger. as for the casters this has been going on since the sixties, the old captains have been
casting all thier life and are dam good what they do, the younger captains are more set up to trolling, the fued has been going on for years, what ever your good at do it, it like the
mich , ohio state fued who ever you root for is the best.
My grandfather Lowell wodrich ran out of channel grove and loved it. He always said they know how to treat people.
I knew your Grandfather well and I just loved that Lyman that he owned and had refurbished to take the tired look away . That was one beautiful boat, especially the new teak deck on the bow. He was a hell of a good charter captain. I remember the outdoor beacon magazine/newspaper that he wrote for that was always full of advise and good ideas for Erie fishermen. It is nice to know that Lowell's legacy lives on.
Another vote for Channel Grove, everything everybody else has said already plus one of the nicest scoops of minnows in that area of the lake. This is also a very busy marina, there always seems to be somebody around that make you feel better about leaving gear on the boats.
Only downside is that Something Fishy II Crew that keep bringing down the property value.
Matt, is there a campground or place to stay close around the marina or do I have to sleep in my boat? I like to stay a few days when I go up to fish.
There is a campground right next door to channel grove. They are pretty filled up all the time. There is currently 2 campers for sale in there not sure on the prices. Think there in the $10k range. The campgrounds is Kott's Camp. Pretty laid back. Mostly fishing campground. There is a golf cart path from Kotts to Channel Grove. I have a camper there and dock my sporty at channel grove. There are other camp grounds close also.
Thanks for all the information from everyone, The reel sport team has chosen dock 61 at channel grove, 6 down from skipper nine. Thanks again Capt. Mike and Wayne 419 265 2736
Nice to meet y'all today. Channel Grove is surely a nice place. I'm probably gonna go talk at them myself.
How much do they charge for a dock?
Mine was $975 no electric/water. I think $1075 with water and electric
I am thinking I am going to make the move as well.:)
There goes the neighborhood, make sure you keep your hands off the Maint. MGR. Machine, she has had a rough enough life already. If I find anything wrong with it her I am coming after ya.
Look forward to seeing more of you next year.
Don't worry jim Capt. mike going thru the west marine book so reel sport is just the same as the eye hunter, make sure them hooks are sharp you 'll have a little compition next year.
Reel Sport team
I wish you guys all the luck in the world.. I hope you find the fish and catch them all every trip....
Jim ,better get that dockage paid fer next year looks to be filling up quick> LOL Your gonna have to set alarm little earlier next year to beat the crowd cause aint nobody leaving til you do.Think gonna call my old buddy Bobby and see if any slips beside you open , that would save me and you both ...... I wouldn't have to keep calling you wondering where the fish are at I can just wait for you morning or evening to ask! LOL Thanks for your extra effort Jim.
So it looks like Skipper 9/Eyehunter(s) are at 74 & 75, Wayne (Reel Sports) is at 61, Madd Matt is at 66, and I will be at 54... sounds like we have it surrounded. LOL. Layout of the marina attached, so you all know where we are in case you need to help Skipper 9 lift the cooler out of his boat... :)
This is BK. I use dock 41 when I am there. I can only stand to be there about 2 weekends a month. With all you guys moving in I may have to only come 1 time a month. That dock is right across from Eyehunters so you know what I am saying. They do may a good alarm clock.
sorry typo should say they make a good alarm clock
Alarm clock... lol...
Honestly I have a lot of great friends at channel Grove. A lot of of us there work together very well... we have a lot of great talent. .. I have to work hard everyday so they dont make me look to bad...
