Planer Mast Mounting Qustions

I bought a used 1993 StarCraft Superfisherman and I would like to mount the mast in the bow pedestal seat base. It seems that Big Jon no longer makes the pedestal seat base mount so I was thinking that I could buy a pedestal post and mount the mast inside the post base. I was wondering if anyone has tried this and I could use some help identifying the pedestal manufacturer. I think it is springfield bud I don't see any markings. Maybe someone with a starcraft might be able to help.
