What do you consider walking distance? I saw people walking out 3-4 miles the other day dragging stuff too. I tip my hat to them.
Thats dedicated for sure
I walked out 1.5 miles out of Catawba last week in the morning before the rain hit. Fished for a little over an hour and caught 1 pig. Fishing buddy caught 3 but he stayed a few more hours. It was a nice smooth walk dragging a sled. Last mile back in the rain was not very fun. We went away from then pack and commotion off of the trail. Spudded the whole way to be safe. You have to be careful around the crack as there are some weak spots from from sleds and 4 wheelers.
Perch are a tough target this time of year with soo many eyes around. It wont be long before the jacks move in shallow and within walking distance (2 miles or 17 ft of water). Good Luck & Good Fishing
Capt.Mike and friends got seven walleyes in two hours weds, 1.5 miles out of metgers, lost a bunch couldn't get thru 8 inch hole, green and silver large rap. all by themself.
