So what's the myth? You decide!
Ha, I was just having this conversation with my wife a few weeks back when she tried to bring bananas on the boat during a weekend trip, made her throw them in the trash at the dock. And now I have some video evidence that I'm not NUTS! (Obsessed, overzealous, engulfed and oblivious to anything else other than fishing....guilty but not nuts.)
No bananas!
Absolutely NO BANANAS on my boat. I even have a no bananas sticker on the side of my windshield.
i heard it was from ships sailing spainish, english sailing from the carribean bringing bananas they had spiders and they were poisonous and that started the myth,, well thats one story im sure there are more myths,, never had a problem with bananas on board,
We had them on the boat Saturday and got a limit and a FO.
Went up to pack the boat tonight. I figured out why we never catch any fish. There was a tube of Banana Boat sunscreen that looked like it'd been in there for years on one of the deck lockers. It went in the trash, now we actually have to catch some fish this weekend for that excuse to work...
Watch out for granola bars with bannana in them too. They made their way onto my boat this spring during the jig bite.
John
Thought I would add some fuel to the banana's being bad luck on board a boat.
