Good start but slow
Hit "D" can about 8:30 AM this morning and worked my way toward Green and then north to west of Rattlesnake about 2 miles. 7 nice fish before noon, 2 being 27 inches. 800 Series DDRR Chartreuse Wonderbread and Gold Clown 45 ft back at 1.7 mph. Only fish a half a day these days. It wasn't great but it was a good start to what promises to be a fantastic season. Looking at the radar and the forecast, I will pass on tomorrow. Besides, I am allergic to lightning. I break out in a rash....................

Thanks for the report, was the bite better up by rattlesnake?

Dr. Ed are you using any in line weight?

In answer to your questions, the bite was about the same from 2 miles NW of Green to one mile west of Rattlesnake. I have never used in line weights with 800 Series DDRR. Never saw the need to as the fish we are catching are high. We also run the DDRR on flat lines straight off the back of the boat using 7' graphite poles with Shimano 2000 Sidestab spinning reels with 12 lb Trilene XT line back 100' plus. It's a challenge and a trill to bring a 10 lb eye to the boat on such light tackle. If you are listening on Ch.79, I announce every catch that hits my cooler with lure, color, lead and speed. I might not say exactly where I am but how many 20' ProLines with a blue bimini top flying the stars and strips off the antenna are out there. Till next time.....
