Ballast Island Perch Report

Started the day 1 mile west of lakeside in big pack, did awful. Moved to pack just NW of Kelly's, 2 perch (1 11 incher tho). Moved to the pack Northeast of Ballast. MUCH BETTER. Myself and my old man got our limit in about 2.5 hours there. Fishing was very fast, had to do some sorting tho, plenty of weak 7 inchers in there to weed out but overall can't complain about the keeper-to-throwback ratio. We were on the NE side of the pack bout (3/4 mile NE of Ballast), we appeared to be doing better than most, plenty of boats hopping around, we were not one of them. 1 spot the for our duration there. Tried the single hook split shot thing you guys have been talking about on here.....varying success. My spreader pulled about the same size and same pace most of the day...couldnt quite get the hang of it. Didn't have time to move out to middle island and try for some eyes, hopefully tomorrow tho.
