Report for 4/16-4/19

We fished last week out of Wild Wings and had very good fishing. Some in the group got their earlier and some later, but for Wednesday through Saturday it was very good. Jigs started the best through Thursday but then Friday and Saturday, the blade baits ruled. We had an easy limit and many throw backs on the reefs each day and really only fished about 4-5 hours each day. One boat caught 17 fish in one drift on Friday morning, all on blades. A few observations, for what it is worth. We got to the reefs early and before the others arrive and push the fish off. although some reefs were better mid morning and early pm, but they did not have boat traffic either! Water below 50, jigs ruled, over or at 50, blades ruled. The deeper the top of the reef the bigger the fish were. Once the traffic arrives we moved and got to the sides/edges of it and deeper. Man, there are some mongo sheepshead out there. Good luck to everyone this week as it should be just phenominal- great fishery and always a trip to look forward to.
