A buddy told me a law was changed that allows you to fish in Canadian waters with an Ohio license - I can't find anything on ODNR website that back's it up - seems hard to believe.

Jeep Guy, you are correct.
No way has canada allowed US citizens to fish there for free. It is their #1 source of revenue. If I am wrong, I will stand corrected. Spend the $60 and error on the side of safety. Those boys don't mess around!
FYI- We did get checked in Canada for license, on the water and the first thing they asked for was license.
He's giving you some bad info. You better buy a license and follow their rules when fishing in Canada.
The boat that stopped us was Ontario Provincial Police with 4 officers on board. They asked us about alcohol and fortunately none of us drink. Canadian law is no alcohol is allowed on a boat for any body. They were nice, but did not fool around. We had a fish count, cooler inspection and all had to display license at the same time so they knew we weren't passing them around.
been reading your post and i think you best have a licence's because are ministry of natural resources dont mess around they will fine you and can sieze your boat and equipment if they dont like what is going on , im thinking you need one tho ,good luck?
