Just my two cents. It’s comical that many reports are so vague on where they are fishing. Erie is a big lake so next time you post leave a few land marks or even a few can letters. Believe me when I say the fish aren’t always there the next day but does give a good starting point. Always thought that this site was about that. Goodluck to all.
OI would like to help fisherman when I find some fish in an area. The problem is next thing you know my boat is hit by planner boards ( Twice) or I can cast and hit their boats (Many times) I like boats near me when perching cause it keeps the fish around. again keep some distance away.
I have to agree. It seems this forum is dominated by charter captains and folks looking for kudos for their catches. Information, and I mean good information, is hard to find. It's sad since the fishing is so good and there is no reason not to help people who are only able to get out once in a while.
It’s the nature of the beast. A lot of posters are charter captains, and keep their spots to themselves. I appreciate whatever info they are willing to give. I myself don’t mind giving exact location, and methods. However I haven’t posted much this year due to my boat being down for most of the season so far. I will admit I have posted exact location, and the next day there are 20 boats trolling my spot. Even if you only come up a couple times a year keep a log book. Log everything possible. Everything! For the most part they are in the same place every year depending on all factors. I just looked up 4th of July last year, and the year before. Same spot same results. I will be in the same spot this week depending on weather. North of the shoal off of east point of middle bass. Probably mix between crawlers, and spoons. 2 years ago I got a 30”, and a 27” same day on spoons. I got my limit of eaters 17-22”. The big ones got released. I’m going to spend a lot of time perching this year, so I’m about done with walleye in 2 more weeks over here. I do go out of Ashtabula with my cousin a few times after the walleye head over there.

You actually have to read the entire report to get the information. I give you a program that is working, too. What else do you want? Numbers? Sheesh....
Perhaps my reply was misunderstood. I was more, or less sticking up for the captains that post. I use information you guys post for a starting point at times. Other times I just start with my own program. I generally start very early this time of year. Usually in the water about 4:30. Sometimes I don’t wet a line until 7:00 looking for fish, so I’m willing to put my time in marking fish.
However I doubt the other posters will change their opinion based on your quote. A fair assumption of north could be up to 40 degrees give, or take. At 4-5 miles out that could be a search area of 4-6 square miles.

Keep posting! Probably about 90% or more of the members enjoy your posts. I’ll be up Thursday early afternoon. May make an evening run, but Friday morning I’ll be back at it for sure.

Capt. Juls does everything BUT give you numbers! If you have any knowledge of the lake, you should be able to use her reports to find the fish. I've never seen anyone share info the way she does. There are several others on here that give pretty detailed info too.
We caught a real nice box of fish on Saturday fishing 51 feet of water off Lorain trolling Bandits 120-140 back unassisted going about 2 MPH. If you need more than that, I don't know what to tell ya! But if you don't already know that Lorain is on fire, I really don't know what to tell ya!
