Was fishing in the maumee river this week and caught two 20 inch walleye. Didn't expect that as everyone else was catching catfish. How common is it ?

Was fishing in the maumee river this week and caught two 20 inch walleye. Didn't expect that as everyone else was catching catfish. How common is it ?
There are usually a few resident walleye in the river it seems. Not that common but I've heard about more being caught this year.
