My nephew and his son are coming to Ohio to fish Walleye. My nephew will of course buy a license. His boy is just under 10 years old. Do I understand correctly that he can fish and can keep up to 6 walleye in addition to those that his dad and I catch?
Yes, in Ohio...that's how it works. When he's 16, he will need a license. :)
My answer is yes as the license age in Ohio is 16. Kids can fish alone and keep fish so why not with their family. However, I'd let a charter captain confirm on this site as they will definitely know.
Or...just call the Ohio DNR real quick and ask them to gain 100% confidence.

He/she/it/they/him/her...lol just has to be able to reel in a fish, even with the help of a parent, so that it's legal. You can't take a very young toddler out there and keep a limit for them. ;)Quote:
