First time out of Lorain

Hey folks, I've been reading thru reports for Western and Central basins, and I'm wondering if anyone has any tips/advice for a trip out of Lorain? I've run a couple trips out of Catawba and Mazurik up to the islands, but want to give the central basin a try. I'm hoping to go over father's day weekend, weather permitting. Sounds like launching out of Hot Waters is pretty common? Anything unusual to watch out for in the area? Any recommendation of Lorain vs Vermillion vs somewhere else I'm not even thinking of? Thanks for any advice you may have!

You can launch out of black river wharf they charge 5 bucks but not as busy as hot waters.I have been doing good out of lorain last 2 weeks silver #6 colorado spoon with gold and red beads.And gold willow blades with yellow and green #6 colorado spoons there out in 47 foot go north northwest out of lorain trolling with crawlers some shorts but most fish 16 to 22 inches good luck

Head northwest of Lorain to 40 fow, start fishing, we've done well with small spoons. Nice size eaters.
