Tried the minnows last year, no fish. Ialso tried them whn we were slamming perch over in Canada, no fish. We were cutting up minnows and still slamming perch, tried cutting up the gulp alive, no fish. May be worth the money for bass but no results for walleye or perch.
ok thanks spoontang. anyone else?
Two years ago, the green/chartruese combo colored ones were killers- the smaller sized ones. Last year, they got outfished by hair jigs pretty good. That was in mid- April.
Used them when I was on the ice this year and they got fish, hard to tell if they out fished real or not, the fish didn't seem to care what you put on. I will try them this week and let you know.
We had some customers bring them last spring during mid April and worked great. I think they used the shad 2.75 inch. We had real minnows and the gulp live and both worked nearly equal but the gulp was better at staying on the hook than the real live bait. I always prefer live bait myself but everybody has a preference.
Last year we caught 3 on it. We only were out a couple of hours and got 4 fish total. I had 4 bites on live bait and hit one. The other guys had less bites but catch ratio was 100 percent. Not sure that will help anyone, but I think it's worth having some in your arsenal.
thanks for all the info everyone
used gulp minnows on purple hair jigs off reefs last year, had mixed results
one time they worked next time they want live minnows, then they want just
plain jigs, I used the larger ones i'm going to try to use the smaller ones,
or cut them down, the berky power bait has been hot the last two years
in the maumee, we are going to try them on the jigs this year.
