depth finder
Ok, I have done a little better this year on the walleye. We never got skunked, but have never caught a limit. So better at finding the fish and changing things up till I get them to bite. I am still having trouble seeing fish on my depth finder. I know it can pick up fish because I can see bottom structure and I believe I can see may flies hatching on the bottom during the hatch . I still have trouble seeing fish on the fish finder. Any links to videos that will show me a visual of what the elusive western basin walleye is supposed to look like on the depth finder screen.
Oh yeah I'm using a Lowrance 520 c.

You should be getting "perfect" arches if your 520 is set up correctly. Not while running, you should see black dots/pixels and if they are large enough you should see red in the middle of those balck dots. And bigger fish you should see yellow inside the red. At speeds up to about 22 mph. Depending on how you have the transducer and unit setup. You could see that at higher speeds. But for trolling speeds, they should show as "perfect arches". Bruce has some great info and dvd's.
